Filmmaking deserves a home.
I trained at drama school. I've worked on sets as an actor, a writer and a producer. And the one thing I kept running into was this: the industry doesn't have a home.
Your career lives in spreadsheets, Facebook groups, WhatsApp threads and word of mouth. If you're not in the right circle, or the right city, you're invisible. That's not good enough.
Filmmaking deserves one living, breathing place where the industry actually lives, instead of a patchwork of scattered tools, DMs and closed doors.
Your career is more than your last credit. You're the sum of your work, your collaborators, your reputation, your risks, your near misses and your wins. FILMD should hold all of that.
Opportunity shouldn't depend on who you already know. Talent is everywhere; access is not. FILMD exists to narrow that gap, so the next great DoP, sound recordist or writer doesn't stay invisible just because they weren't in the right WhatsApp group.
Productions run better when everything is in one place. Teams, roles, paperwork, call sheets and messages: scattered tools create scattered teams.
Trust is as important as talent. Verified profiles, accredited skills, clear contracts and, soon, compliant payments aren't nice to haves. They're what let people sleep at night and come back for the next job.
Technology should serve the craft, not squeeze it. FILMD is here to take the chaos off filmmakers' hands, not to dictate how films are made.
So I built FILMD. One platform where every actor, filmmaker and crew member can build a real professional profile, get discovered and find work, and in time get paid properly through FILMD too, wherever they're from and whoever they know.
We now have 25,400+ members across the UK, and Entrepreneur UK named us one of its Top 100 Startups to Watch in 2026. But the thing I'm most proud of is the messages from filmmakers who found their first job, their first collaborator or their first break through FILMD.
In time, the industry should run on FILMD.
This platform is for you. And it always will be.
