Film and TV is one of the most creative and rewarding industries there is. It's also one of the hardest to break into.
If you didn't go to the right school, grow up in the right city or know the right people, the doors stayed shut. Jobs were shared in private WhatsApp groups and passed on by word of mouth. Unless you were already inside the circle, you didn't know it existed.
We built FILMD because that's wrong. Every member can build a profile, be found by productions and apply for every job, free. A first-time filmmaker in Sunderland is on the same platform as an established name in London, and that's how it should be.
